The London Street Photography Festival in partnership with the Third Floor Gallery Cardiff is pleased to present Street Photography Now - the exhibition, with its first showing in England.
Images on display are taken from the book of the same name published by Thames & Hudson which brings together the work of an internationally acclaimed roster of artists including Martin Parr, Bruce Gilden, Matt Stuart, and Joel Meyerowitz. From Manhattan's Fifth Avenue to London's Oxford Street, from Mexico City to Moscow via Bombay and Bournemouth, Street Photography Now also features the work of a truly global group of emerging photographers working the streets today.
In addition to images from the book, the exhibition will showcase a small selection of images from the online Street Photography Now Project. Run by the authors of the book in conjunction with the Photographer's Gallery, this year-long project is open to all. Each week the participants are set a brief by one of the photographers featured in the book, designed to inspire fresh ways of working and seeing the street. The photographer setting the brief then picks his or her favourite images and gives feedback online.
